Phares cited in al Anwar of Australia on the making of UNSCR 1559

Professor Walid Phares was cited by Joe Beaini, President of the World Council of the Cedars Revolution (WCCR)in al Anwar of Australia on the making of UNSCR 1559. "Professor Walid Phares worked with our teams of the Lebanese Diaspora on what became UNSCR 1559 with the members of the UN Security Council and the Secretariat General. Phares was the main writer of the draft that was voted later as UNSCR 1559."

This UN Security Council Resolution called on Syria to withdraw from Lebanon and on Hezbollah to disarm. It was co-sponsored by the United States and France in August 2004.
