Phares to Al Saa TV in Egypt: "Two conditions to dialogue with the Taliban"
In an interview with al Saa TV in Egypt, Professor Walid Phares said the US Administration in its current strategies will try to establish a dialogue with the Taliban. But the Jihadists can't meet the two minimal conditions required: "Abandoning their weapons and accepting democracy. Otherwise these aren't Taliban anymore, let's not kid ourselves."

Professor Walid Phares told al Saa TV in Egypt(Arabic)that the "United States are trying to enlist the endorsement of Russia and China to apply serious sanctions. Washington knows Tehran is gaining time but there is till a group of advisors to the Administration who wishes to cut a deal with the Iranian regime. The democratic opposition seems to be a long term problem for the regime. Western democracies may well engage it in the future."
